Persian meaning 'embroidery with needle', Suzani is a decorative folk embroidery found across central Asia. This art form dates back to the origin of silk route. Originally Suzani embroidery used to be done on the wide cotton cloth using organically dyed threads to produce beautiful wall hangings and bed cover.
Motifs like pomegranates, trees, peonies, grapes, flowers inspired from the Persian gardens were beautifully embroidered by the young brides and their mothers as gifts for the groom's family for their wedding day. The motifs and patterns symbolizes luck, abundance and fertility.
